Fathomless [song lyric]

Posted on Updated on

fathomless

I’ve always swum to the bed of the sea
Have no desire just to skim
Somehow the pull of the deep is so strong
Love living out on a limb

There is a space where my mind loves to go
Somewhere beyond all earthly bounds
I can’t explain how my blood starts to flow
Such travel always astounds

But I still need loving lite
Can’t let the simple out of sight
Though I’m complex, when love connects
Easy is the word which comes to mind

Once dug a well in the ground with my hands
Wore down my fingers to the bone
Still digging now down that hole in a trance
Then it became my new home

[Endless fathomless I fly
Nothing less will satisfy]

I run a mile from the shallow and slight
Life’s just too short to misspend
That’s why I’m wary of love at first sight
Need time for roots to descend

And I still need loving lite
Can’t let the simple out of sight
Though I’m complex, when love connects
Easy is the word which comes to mind

Black comes in shades but it never turns white
Dear’s always dear and cheap is cheap
Trite doesn’t have the same meaning as light
Simple needn’t mean it isn’t deep
