Metaverse [new song video]
LIVING-ROOM VIDEO #88: “Metaverse”. Here’s a new song, for which I completed the lyrics yesterday and the melody today. The so-called Metaverse is a virtual universe, which, according to its social media promoters, is kinda-like the next stage in transhumanist “evolution”. 🙄 Frankly, I think that the metaverse is already here, in that so many folks are living their lives virtually rather than realistically and are being sucked into an A.I. existence. And that’s what this song addresses. Here are the lyrics:
Behind that smiling profile
lie a thousand broken dreams;
and the myth you have created
masks the part of you that screams.
But your avatar’s inviting
all those men to want you so;
while the girls find you empowering
and your followers just grow.
You’re a fiction in the making
and the lines have now been blurred
between the friendless life you’re leading
and your brainwashed CyberHerd.
You’re addicted to endorphins
from the “likes” you now receive.
There’s no limit to the fables
you can make that herd believe.
[Refrain]
Floating in your Metaverse —
dissociated schizoid curse.
The parts that shone, the vampires stole.
You’ve sold your birthright and your soul.
Your ten thousand yawnsome selfies
make all those beta males drool.
Making loads of yoga poses
so your herd will think you’re cool.
Always seeking validation
from the pawns who you’ve beguiled
gives away that you were sidelined
and were broken as a child.
{Vocal bridge}
The irony is, O beautiful lass,
you sought fame but you live in a lie.
If you fall further in, you will reach an impasse;
then there’s no turning back, just goodbye.
Where you are is in transition
from a human to a drone.
As you prostitute your selfdom
and become a virtual clone.
The Metaverse is Hades
for a mind that’s lost its way.
where the dark satanic vampires
on your treachery will prey.
[Refrain]
Floating in your Metaverse —
dissociated schizoid curse.
The parts that shone, the vampires stole.
You’ve sold your birthright and your soul.

Whew! That’s a truly scary one. Caring more for their vanity than for having their soul grounded in truth. A rather precarious place to be. So sad. Lovely houses built on sand. Some nice guitar work! Great voice as always. 🙂
