Mountain-View [song lyric]

Posted on Updated on

Well here’s a nostalgic little song which popped out of my head onto my Tosh while I sat alone in the dark in a lonely pizza bar in Ystad last night. It’s one of those which just had to be written or else. Held me hostage till it was finished..

I woke up in the morning
With a message on my phone
Saying: “A surge of huge emotion
’cause of you and I’m alone”
Why do you do this to me
When we long ago did part?
You have a way of reaching
With your words into my heart

You stirred up all those feelings
Which I’d put into a drawer
Neatly stored away until
Some new love found my door
Now I cannot get your
Crooked smile out of my head
Desire for you so strong
I almost wish that I was dead

Please don’t toy with my poor soul
Your absence in my life has left a hole
Save your games for your new guy
Please let my stormy seas subside

When on that misty mountain
In that moonlit scene so strange
We brought our lips together
And provoked a hurricane
It changed my life forever and
Brought back your youthful thrill
It made us childhood sweethearts
And my heart feels that way still

Bridge:
To tell the truth
It never went away
Never could suppress my wanting you
Storm just blew
My life in disarray
Now I want again that mountain-view

But then you went your own way
And I truly wished you well
I never thought I’d hear from you
And my heart said fare-thee-well
Yet here you are this morning
On my lifeless telephone
With a surge of huge emotion
Now the hurricane comes home

Please don’t toy with my poor soul
Your absence in my life has left a hole
Save your games for your new guy
Please let my stormy seas subside
