Breaking News! Christ was not born on 25th December

BREAKING NEWS: CHRIST WAS NOT BORN ON DECEMBER 25th or on any other day in December! That date was simply a disingenuous attempt a few centuries later to forge a union between the religion of Christianity and the pagan festivities which occurred around that date. Church history has been full of wimpish compromise and the complete betrayal of Christ for 2000 years. He didn’t come to create a religion or a global authoritarian church structure but to light the way for genuine spiritual pilgrims and to warn about the decisive catastrophe coming at the end of the aeon — which is around now! Certain events in the bible show that his birth could not have been in December. For example, it is written that shepherds were watching their flocks in the fields at night (words which have been immortalised in the well-known carol). However, December would have been too cold for that to happen out in the open countryside. Also, the bible says that a census was being taken at the time and Christ’s parents had come to Bethlehem to register. Again, a census would not have been called in December as it would be too difficult for many to travel. The most likely time for Christ to have been born would be sometime in the latter part of September, which can be concluded by checking the timeline shown in the first chapter of Luke’s gospel regarding the conception of John the Baptist and the fact that Christ was six months younger than him. I can understand the importance today of having annual cosy family get-togethers in the dead of Winter when the sun is at its lowest and the temperature is at its coldest. But December 25th is now just an excuse for gift-porn and consumerist-gluttony. Nothing to do with Christ’s birth anyway. A much more pertinent question than “When was Christ born?” would be “WHY was Christ born?” That, my friends, will be the subject of a forthcoming article 😉

[A Meditation for an Eclipse Season]

“Saw the face on the Moon last night —
shocked, marvelled and amazed
that the wrong ain’t made right.
Looking down on this broken old world
over which flags of cowardly deeds
have unfurled.”

Service and our Own Unimportance

WE ARE NOT NEARLY SO IMPORTANT as we think we are (well… not in the prevailing way that most people imagine). We are all completely expendable — imaginarily here for a very brief time. Then the dream ends as suddenly as it began (though the only thing which really “dies” is illusion).

During this brief span that we call “life”, we play our little roles in a vast and glorious process that we are not even aware of. But we do have a choice in how we play those roles: We can either live primarily to fill our bellies and be ruled by our desires OR we can devote ourselves to serving others. The beautiful irony is that when we choose the service of others we fortuitously become fulfilled anyway! 😊 But the person who is living primarily for himself or herself cannot realise that. To such a one it appears as if “dog eat dog” — strike before you’re struck — is the only way to behave if one wants to find fulfilment. This is one of the primary delusions on the planet, for dogs who eat dogs will themselves be eaten — if only by their own inflated self. “Those who live by the sword die by the sword”.

The World seems to be going crazier each Day

World Going Crazier-1
Woke up this morning with a bunch of touchstone principles for living playing out in my head. Added them to some others I’d already written and this is what I finished up with. Are we on the same wavelength?

Don’t be a Useful Idiot!

Useful Idiot
I’M CURRENTLY WRITING AN ARTICLE about enslavement in all its aspects, internal and external. Being enslaved to the lies and darkness of the political arena is a major aspect. In the attached image that I’ve prepared is an incentive to unenslave yourself from this idiocy, if you haven’t already done so. Don’t be a useful idiot to the theatre of war!

The Naked Troubadour Sets Out its Stall

TNT-logo2

Dear Friends, today, my new blog website, “The Naked Troubadour”, goes live on the internet. I’ve owned the site for a couple of years but have been waiting for the right moment to develop it. That moment is now. I was keeping it as a “placeholder” until I could no more contain myself from going live with it. Quietly, in recent weeks, it’s been having its design established and a great deal of my material — almost 800 works — has already been uploaded to it.

Every “Moment” is the Edge

Posted on Updated on

every_moment_is_the_edge

EVERY “MOMENT” IS THE EDGE! Now you may ask “Why is ‘moment’ in quotation marks”? Simple. Because there is no such thing. Not really. Moment = mistake. Here’s the ride: There is no past (for that is only imagined temporarily in some neuronal electrical impulse in our brains). It doesn’t really exist. There is no future (for that is only a neuronally-imagined possibility or potentiality). That also has no objective existence. Neurons are transitory will-o-the-wisp opportunists which take advantage of the fickle fleeting newness of the illusion of the present. Let’s be honest, there isn’t even really any “now”; for as soon as you grab it as “now” it becomes a lie, no longer extant. Now is never now! Try to grasp it and it’s gone, like an incontinent elderly gentleman who repeatedly excuses himself and leaves the room. So let’s also forget about now.

How I Work

Posted on Updated on

how_i_work

This is the way I work when creating an article. I write as the words appear in my head in a stream of consciousness. Then I print it out and lay it all out (in the photo there are 10,000 words). Then I read through it and create a series of headings and sub-headings. Then I start a new file with those headings and cut & paste the text from the original file to go under the new headings. This is the article “Making Sense of the World Today – Including Trump, Brexit & the Apparent Brokenness of Everything”
