Sonnet for Normals

Normal

“I’m not normal”, she said. I didn’t care:
For there can no such thing as normal be.
Against such narrow ways we must beware;
allow me to explain (and here’s the key!).

Normality’s a state of mind we make
in order to provide ourselves with ground
[conformity is also just as fake]
to walk upon so we’ll become hidebound.

To push the envelope should be our aim.
To break out from the box with every thought
and action done will set our hearts aflame
and into better realms our minds transport.

There’s one thing worse than mediocrity:
Ubiquitous and crippling normalcy!

    This is comforting! And so true.

    Heaven is going to be grand! So not of this world.
