I agree! As long as diligence is ruled by and enhances the other virtues, it’s beautiful.
However, if it is ruled and enhanced by evil then it’s self-deceived, monstrous and useless activity. If diligence has been hijacked by evil then productivity is darkened by greed, envy and malice, etc. The current diligently repeated mantras of propaganda for Covid vaxxes are diligently brainwashing the masses to accept an unproven clinical gene therapy as a cure without little if any critical thought. Diligence not only proves love, it proves logic and goodness by diligently keeping truth as the purpose for activity.
No one likes to talk about the seven deadly sins or the seven counterpoint virtues anymore. It would undo all the arguments of — –isms which are trying to make the case for “social” sins. Isn’t this how religious, political and social cults remove the stigma of shame — by covering it with the paint of “the common good”?
Thing is… anything can be used for good or bad. Duty, devotion, even the giving of gifts! Satan can put his spin on anything humans do if their hearts are not in the right place. When I speak of diligence, I am only coming at it from my head-space. Diligence, when used for evil purposes ceases to be diligence and becomes obsession, fixation, fetish or mania. 😉

Just thinking . . . . A good bite to chew on. 🙂
