Love vs Romance

Posted on Updated on

love_vs_romance

I USED TO THINK IT WAS REALLY COOL TO BE ROMANTIC — or, should I say, “A Romantic”. After all, isn’t that what poets, or artists of any kind, are supposed to be? However, the older I’ve become and, maybe, also the wiser I’ve become, I’ve realised just how superficial all that romantic stuff really is. In fact, I came to realise that it is actually a cheap counterfeit of something which goes infinitely deeper — namely, Love. Romance has come to play such a huge part in affairs of the human heart for a number of reasons: Inadequate parenting or abuse as a child; inability to face up to the harsh reality of life in this dimension on earth; a failure to transition healthily from child to adult; superficiality and narcissism; and plain old wishful thinking. All of these aspects have — during the last century or so — been avidly exploited by Hollywood movies and Mills and Boon novels (currently 18,000 of them!).

So here are my reasons for abandoning romance in favour of what it counterfeits so insidiously:

Service and our Own Unimportance

warp_and_woof

WE ARE NOT NEARLY SO IMPORTANT as we think we are (well… not in the prevailing way that most people imagine). We are all completely expendable — imaginarily here for a very brief time. Then the dream ends as suddenly as it began (though the only thing which really “dies” is illusion).

During this brief span that we call “life”, we play our little roles in a vast and glorious process that we are not even aware of. But we do have a choice in how we play those roles: We can either live primarily to fill our bellies and be ruled by our desires OR we can devote ourselves to serving others. The beautiful irony is that when we choose the service of others we fortuitously become fulfilled anyway! 😊 But the person who is living primarily for himself or herself cannot realise that. To such a one it appears as if “dog eat dog” — strike before you’re struck — is the only way to behave if one wants to find fulfilment. This is one of the primary delusions on the planet, for dogs who eat dogs will themselves be eaten — if only by their own inflated self. “Those who live by the sword die by the sword”.

Commentary on the Song, “Sophia”

Posted on Updated on

Sophia1

YESTERDAY, I POSTED THE LYRICS OF A NEW SONG ENTITLED “SOPHIA”. Here’s a little commentary about it, taking the concept a stage further. On the surface, the song is about a recurring dream I have, in which I powerfully encounter the “perfect” woman or archetypal feminine entity (hence the title, “Sophia”). But behind this, there is so much more implicated, which has a bearing on the quality of life we lead. For when two people come together in an intimate union here on earth, in this dimension, it’s also emblematic of our oneness with all things. The human being doesn’t really like separation, whether emotional, psychological or physical. This is because it is not our natural state. So, behind every genuine love story there lies a deeper significance, because we’re all — either knowingly or not — trying to find our way back “home”, our pre-existential state. (Even in the womb we still enjoyed that oneness with the mother, even while we gradually morphed into a separate entity). In human existence, we live in this temporary illusion of individuated consciousness, as if we are separate entities. But behind all that is the interconnectedness of all things. The intimately loving union between two souls mirrors this connection; which is why, symbolically, we chase it down so avidly in this life. Even sex addicts are acting out the desire to take away the pain of separation and find a comforting oneness in union with another (though because it is pathological, neurotic and devoid of love, it is never fulfilling and just becomes a painful endless and fruitless search through countless sexual partners). There is no greater epiphany or revelation than understanding the way that an intimately loving union between two souls mirrors the union we have with all things at a higher dimensional level. When that mirror is realised by both lovers in a relationship in which they have come together for reasons of pure love rather than attempting to fulfil some inadequacy in themselves, then there can be no insecurities, no conflicts, no defensiveness, no grasping or controlling, no bitching, no griping, no pushing, no manipulating, no self-centredness, no “acting out” of any kind — in other words, nothing which can disrupt the relationship is tolerated or even necessary.

What Lies Behind the British General Election 2017

Politics as Entertainment Division

SO OFTEN, I FIND A LITTLE SIGH COMING OUT OF MY MOUTH when I see so many of my friends — both in real life and on social media — become so easily caught up in the razzmatazz of national election processes, whether presidential or parliamentarian. How any mature person could take seriously these very obviously staged theatrical productions is quite beyond me. Every few years, the power-elite (secret global government) which really controls everything — consisting of secret fraternities, ancient families, plus the upper echelons of military, intelligence, security and law enforcement agencies in collusion with diplomatic/civil services — allows the people to imagine they are part of a democracy which chooses its government. It is an extremely clever and effective strategy. But it makes monkeys out of everyone.

The Sonnet: Awakener of the Soul

tottel-cover

Let’s start with a big question: Is it possible that structure can bring freedom? Can some kind of “limitation” ever be inspiring? Your immediate reaction might be to say, emphatically, “No way! I’d just want to break out of it” But that would be too quick and too easy a response. In fact, it would have been a response based only in the realm of the physical, which itself is already very limited by its nature. If that question was put to me — “Can structure bring freedom?” — I would be tempted to have some fun with whatever that structure was — to turn it around — to reinvent it, transform it, without any violation of the original question. You see, working within a structure can be joyful and liberating if your artistic mind is already totally free. For limitations, when confronted by a free mind, do not bring an imposition — in just the same way that so-called “problems” for the free soul are merely exciting challenges. 😊

Terrorism in European Cities: The Only Conclusion

Posted on Updated on

IMG_3373

REGARDING ALL THE TERRORIST ATROCITIES happening regularly in European cities — after all the information available has been digested — there is only one conclusion to which any sane, honest, informed and rational person can come: That governmental security services, intelligence agencies and even the upper echelons of those governments themselves (i.e. presidential, prime ministerial and ministerial levels) are complicit in those atrocities. To fail to come to that conclusion, one would have to be either extremely stupid, an escapist living in la-la land or simply too fearful to face up to the implications of that life-changing revelation.

Why Do I Feel So Alone?

Why Do I Feel So Alone

First, let me say this: Spiritual aloneness is not the same as loneliness. People very often communicate to me how lonely and isolated they feel on their spiritual pathway. The crazier the world becomes, the more “strung out” one can feel. Last week, someone wrote this to me:

“You talk a lot about the Light. I love the Light too. I thought that when I woke up a couple of years ago that in place of the old friends I had to leave behind or who left me behind because of my changes, I would find a lot of new friends who walked the same path as me. I remember as I was waking up that I felt more and more out of place and all alone when with my old friends. But two years later I actually feel more alone than ever before. I don’t understand why this should be. Can you explain it?”

The Relationship between Repressed Sexual Expression and War

17904449_1678372775526219_6163233165703974545_n

AS THE SUBJECT OF WAR seems to be very much on people’s minds right now, causing great consternation and puzzlement, here is an enhanced relevant extract from an eBook I wrote recently, entitled “War is Who we Are”. This little extract deals with the relationship between repressed sexual expression, conflict and the hardware used in warfare. Here it is:

“Having looked at a number of conflict-based actions and ways of thinking, we now come to the next principal human action and way of thinking which inevitably leads to war — though the mass of minds have dissociated it from that.

Don’t be a Useful Idiot!

Useful Idiot
I’M CURRENTLY WRITING AN ARTICLE about enslavement in all its aspects, internal and external. Being enslaved to the lies and darkness of the political arena is a major aspect. In the attached image that I’ve prepared is an incentive to unenslave yourself from this idiocy, if you haven’t already done so. Don’t be a useful idiot to the theatre of war!
